EGGcetera is a website for and by egg tempera painters run by Ithaca NY based author-illustrator Chris Moriarty. I originally created this webiste in order to sell authentic handcrafted gesso panels … and then realized that I have extremely limited patience for spending my days standing in line at the post office mailing panels instead of actually painting!
After a few brief months of battling the USPS and wrestling with bubble wrap, I decided that I would rather use this space to bring quality information and instruction about egg tempera to a wider audience. Egg tempera is a wonderful painting medium, and (to quote Mark Twain) “rumors of its demise are much exaggerated.”
